Hoya Temperature Tolerance Chart

I have been growing hoyas for several years now. At first, I was very frustrated when several of my hoyas grew very slowly. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. They didn't have pests and had plenty of fertilizer and light.

It wasn't until I started researching about how different hoyas grow better at different temperatures that I began to understand why some of my plants weren't growing very well.

I discovered that most of my plants that were slow-growing actually prefer a much higher heat than I was giving them. I also discovered that some of my plants that weren't doing so well prefer colder temperatures.

At the time, I was growing all my hoyas in one room at the same temperature. I didn't worry too much about the temperature of the room. It got above 80 in the summer and in the low 60s at night in the winter.

Once I separated my plants into two groups, they all started growing so much better. I kept my plant room as my cool room and try to keep it around 75°F. I purchased a large grow tent and put it in a different room, and try to keep it at a minimum of 85°F.
