Hoya 'Rebecca' (Splash) is one of those plants that quietly earns a permanent spot in your collection. I originally purchased the green form because of its name, but it quickly became a favorite thanks to its easy-going nature and beautiful trailing growth habit.

When I found a splash form, I knew I had to add it—the silver flecking takes everything I already loved about this plant and makes it even more eye-catching. Under bright light, the leaves can develop stunning red sun-stressed tones, creating a constantly changing display that rewards good growing conditions.

• Origin: Hoya 'Rebecca' is a cultivated hybrid. It was created by crossing Hoya lacunosa and Hoya obscura, combining the vigorous growth and attractive foliage traits of both parent species.

• Leaves: Features thick, slightly succulent leaves covered with attractive silver splash markings. Under higher light levels, the foliage can develop beautiful red and burgundy sun-stressed coloration. The trailing vines make it especially attractive in hanging displays.

• Flowers: Produces clusters of small, star-shaped flowers with pink to peach tones and a darker center. Like many Hoyas, the blooms are fragrant and can last for several days when conditions are favorable.

• Growth Rate: Moderate to fast-growing when provided with warmth, bright light, and regular feeding.

• Watering: Allow the potting mix to partially dry between waterings. Water thoroughly when the mix is nearly dry, avoiding constantly wet soil.

• Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light. For optimal growth and splash coloration, this plant grows well approximately 8 inches below double Barrina T5 lights for 14 hours per day. Higher light levels can encourage the sought-after red sun-stressed foliage.

• Ideal Temperature & Humidity: Thrives around 85°F with humidity levels of 70–75%. It adapts to typical household conditions but grows fastest in warm, humid environments.
