Origin: JAD030 was introduced by Niu Plants as an outer-variegated cultivar from Jadeite Garden. Its parentage has not been published, so it should not be described as a hybrid. The underlying species was originally published as Hoya pubera by Carl Ludwig Blume in 1827; Kew Plants of the World Online now accepts the corrected name Hoya puber and records it as an epiphytic subshrub native to Sumatra, western Java and Borneo.
Leaves: Small, rounded-to-oval leaves give this selection its compact, approachable look. They appear plump and pillow-like rather than thin or papery, with green centers surrounded by subtle cream-to-pale-yellow outer variegation. The precise pattern varies naturally from leaf to leaf.
Flowers: A peer-reviewed botanical paper by Michele Rodda describes the species’ small flowers as yellow-orange, with corolla lobes that bend backward near their tips. Flower color, scent and performance have not yet been documented specifically for the outer-variegated JAD030 selection, and no reliable information was found for fragrance or bloom duration.
