Collection: Sunstressed Hoyas

If you are wondering which hoyas you can sunstress, this collection is for you!

Some hoyas are only green, and will only be green no matter how much light they get, but some hoyas will "sunstress" when exposed to higher light.

Sunstress is basically a tan, like a human would get. In my personal observations, the more sun-stressed a hoya gets, the slower it grows. Because of this, I tend to only sunstress my hoyas just enough that they get a little color, but not so much that it slows them down.

It was hard for me to decide which plants to put in this collection in some cases. I decided that if it didn't always have green leaves, then I would count that. For example, sometimes only the splash will turn pink when sunstressed, but that is technically sunstressed. Another example is that sometimes emerging leaves come in a color different from the main leaf color, then change to the color of the other mature leaves when they harden. That usually only happens with sunstressing, so I counted those.

In order to sunstress a hoya, slowly expose it to more and more light. This triggers the plant to produce protective pigments called anthocyanins.
